Thomas Malone of MIT and his colleagues found that the performance of small groups/teams is not co-related with the IQ level of the team's members nor that of the cleverest member of the group/team. The factors significantly influence the performance are:
- Members' social sensitivities,
- How equally the conversation is distributed among members, and
- Ratio of female members!
